# Sticky messages

> Keep important messages visible at the bottom of a channel.

A **sticky message** is re-posted as people chat so it stays visible. Perfect for rules, announcements or "read this first" notes. Manage them with `/sticky` (requires **Manage Messages**).

## Building a sticky

Sticky messages are built from blocks, up to **12 blocks** each:

> **Text**
>
> Formatted text.

> **Separator**
>
> A divider line.

> **Section**
>
> Text with an accessory.

> **Image**
>
> A picture or gallery.

> **Button**
>
> A clickable button.

## When it is re-sent

| Setting | Behavior |
| - | - |
| Every message | After each new message (default) |
| Every 5 or 10 messages | After that many messages |
| Every 30 seconds | At most once per 30 seconds |
| Every minute | At most once per minute |

Anything other than "every message" needs Tier 1.

## Timing options

**Detection**

**Immediate**, or **delayed**, which waits for a pause in the conversation (5 seconds by default) before re-posting so it does not interrupt a fast chat.

**Cleanup**

Choose when the old copy is deleted: when the new one starts, when it ends (default), or after a delay (5 seconds by default).

## Triggers

Depending on your tier, a sticky can also appear on a **keyword**, on a **schedule**, up to a **maximum number of times**, with a **per-user cooldown**, or when someone **reacts** to a message.
