# Translate

> Translate text, messages, images, PDFs and files, even very long ones.

`/translate` turns almost anything into the language you choose.

**to** `language`

The language to translate into. Start typing to search all supported languages.

**text** `text`

Text to translate.

**from** `language`

The original language. Leave empty to detect it automatically.

**message** `message link`

Translate a message and any images attached to it.

**attachment** `file`

A file, image or PDF. You can add more files in the extra attachment options.

## What it can handle

> Long text is split into pieces and translated piece by piece, so it never gets cut off.

> Text inside images is read automatically before it is translated.

> **PDFs and files**
>
> Upload PDFs and text files directly.

> **Several files at once**
>
> Add up to three attachments in one request.

## Translate without typing

Right-click any message, choose **Apps**, then **Translate Message**.
