# Welcomer

> Greet new members and say goodbye, with embeds and generated image cards.

Welcome and goodbye messages are set up on the **dashboard** (the Welcome and Goodbye page). The bot sends them when someone joins or leaves.

## What you can set

Joining and leaving each have their own settings.

| Setting | Description |
| - | - |
| Channel | Where the message goes. |
| Format | A plain **text** message or an **embed**. |
| Message | Your text, with placeholders such as `{user}`, `{server}`, `{username}`, `{memberCount}` and `{avatar}`. |
| DM the member | Send it privately, with an optional fallback to the channel. |
| Mention | Ping the member. |
| Delete after | Remove the message after 0 to 3600 seconds. |
| Ignore bots | On by default. |

> Placeholders are replaced with real values. `Welcome {user} to {server}!` becomes a personal greeting.

## Embeds

Customize the color, author, title, description, thumbnail, image, footer, up to 10 fields and a timestamp.

## Image cards

The bot can generate a welcome **image card** with the member's avatar.

You choose the background (a color or an image), overlay opacity, accent color, title and subtitle text, and the avatar's shape (circle, square or hexagon), size and border.

> Treat accounts younger than a number of days (0 to 365) as suspicious, and optionally **skip the welcome message** for them.
