# Bonus entries

> Give members extra chances to win using roles, levels, XP, tags, streaks and votes.

Every member starts with **one entry**. Bonus entries add more chances. The more entries a member has, the better their odds, but nobody is ever guaranteed to win.

## Where bonus entries can come from

| Source | A member gets extra entries when... |
| - | - |
| **Role** | They have a specific role. |
| **Level** | They reach a certain level. |
| **XP** | They have a certain amount of XP. |
| **Server tag** | They display your official server tag. |
| **Streak** | They have entered giveaways several times in a row. |
| **Vote** | They voted for the bot. See [Voting](https://docs.giveawayx.lol/features/voting.md). |
| **Specific member** | You hand a particular person a fixed bonus. |

Role, level, XP and tag bonuses follow the giveaway's **stacking** setting. Vote and specific-member bonuses always stack.

## Add them from a command

The format is a role mention followed by the number of bonus entries. More advanced bonuses are set in the Studio panel or on the dashboard.

## Advanced options

> **Multipliers**
>
> A bonus can be multiplied (for example ×2, ×3 or ×5) to make it count for more.

> **Random bonus**
>
> Instead of a fixed number, a bonus can roll a random amount between a minimum and a maximum.

> **Temporary bonus**
>
> A bonus can be limited to a time window so it only counts during a special period, such as a "boost weekend".

> **Stacking**
>
> Stacking is on by default, so bonuses of different types add together. Turn it off to apply priority rules instead.

## Vote bonus entries

Members who vote for the bot get **+1 entry** in every active giveaway they joined. Use `max_entries` (1 to 10) to cap how many vote entries one member can earn. Vote entries count only while the vote is still valid (12 hours).

> Bonus entries are a great way to thank boosters and supporters without excluding anyone. Pair them with a normal open giveaway so everybody still has a chance.
