# Scheduling giveaways

> Prepare a giveaway now and have it start automatically later.

`/gschedule` creates a giveaway that **posts itself** at a time you choose. It opens with a **live preview** and supports full editing.

## Subcommands

| Command | What it does |
| - | - |
| `/gschedule create` | Create a scheduled giveaway. |
| `/gschedule list` | Show your scheduled giveaways. |
| `/gschedule edit` | Edit one (pick from the list). |
| `/gschedule delete` | Cancel one (pick from the list). |

## Creating one

**1. Choose when it starts**

`start_time` can be a **duration from now**, like `1d` or `2h30m`, or a **unix timestamp** for an exact moment.

**2. Choose how long it runs**

`duration` is how long the giveaway lasts **after it starts**.

**3. Set the rules**

It accepts the same options as `/gstart`: prize, winners, channel, template, images, roles, ages, message and level requirements, bonus entries, repeat, sticky and more. Everything is optional because you can finish in the panel.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Requires **Manage Server**.

## Reminders and recurrence

> **Pre-start reminder**
>
> Ping a role a number of minutes before the giveaway starts to build hype. With no role chosen, the reminder is channel-only.

> **Recurring**
>
> Repeat **daily**, **weekly** or **monthly**. When one goes live, the next is prepared automatically so the series keeps going.

> [!TIP]
>
> If a scheduled giveaway cannot start (for example the bot lost access to the channel), it retries a limited number of times instead of looping forever. Check the channel permissions if it does not appear.
