# Troubleshooting

> Fix the most common problems yourself.

> **The bot did not post my giveaway**
>
> **1. Check channel permissions**
>
> The bot needs **View Channel**, **Send Messages** and **Embed Links** in that channel (plus **Add Reactions** for reaction giveaways).
>
> **2. Check your own permissions**
>
> You need Manage Server, Administrator or a Giveaway Manager role.
>
> **3. Check the values**
>
> A duration without a unit (like `30`) is rejected. Use `30m`.

> **A giveaway is stuck or did not end**
>
> Run `/gfix giveaway_id:<id>`. Use `dry_run:true` first if you only want to see the report.

> **Winners did not get a role**
>
> The bot's role must be **above** the role it gives, and it needs **Manage Roles**.

> **Winners did not get a DM**
>
> Winner DMs must be on in `/settings`, and the member must allow DMs from server members.

> **Slash commands are missing**
>
> Make sure the bot was added with command access, and that your server has not hidden the command. If it still does not appear, ask in the support server.

> **A member cannot enter**
>
> They will get a private message saying which requirement they miss: a role, account age, join age, level, boost, captcha and so on. Check [Entry requirements](https://docs.giveawayx.lol/giveaways/entry-requirements.md).

> **Leveling gives no XP**
>
> XP tracking needs active Premium. See [Leveling](https://docs.giveawayx.lol/features/leveling.md).

> **I made a mistake in a giveaway**
>
> `/gedit` fixes most things. If it already ended, `/greroll` can replace winners.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Include the giveaway link and what you expected to happen when you ask for help in the [support server](https://discord.gg/86jArY28hj). It makes fixes much faster.
