Add the bot to your server

Run /invite in any server that already has GiveawayX to get the invite link, or ask in the support server. When the bot joins it posts a Getting Started message where admins can confirm the server language and prefix.

Let the bot see the channel

In the channel for your giveaways, make sure the bot can View Channel and Send Messages. Reaction giveaways also need Add Reactions. The full list is in Permissions.

Start a giveaway

Pick whichever style you like:
With /gcreate you fill in a short form (prize, duration, winners, optional image) and choose Publish now or Customize in Studio.

Members enter

Members press the Enter button on the giveaway message. If the giveaway uses reaction entry, they react instead.

Winners are drawn

When the timer ends the bot picks winners, updates the message and can DM them and open a winner thread. If someone never claims, use /greroll.

Your first giveaway checklist

  • The bot can post in the channel.
  • You have Manage Server, Administrator or a Giveaway Manager role.
  • You know the prize, the duration (for example 1d) and how many winners.
Add a required role, a minimum account age or the captcha so alt accounts and bots cannot win. See Entry requirements.
Give boosters or supporters extra entries with Bonus entries, or add an image from /gcreate.
Winners can be DMed, get a role automatically and claim in a thread. Read Winners and claims.
